Leadership & Executive Advisory
My background involves helping people navigate relationships. That includes communication, conflict, boundaries, intimacy, trust, repair, emotional patterns, and the complicated space between two people when they want different things.
Those skills don’t stop being relevant when the relationship is professional, and I have learned this over time, by working with individuals who I integrate or transition to leadership coaching.
Businesses are made up of people, and teams are made up of relationships. Leadership happens amongst those relationships, everyday.
My work gives you a confidential space to slow down, examine what’s actually happening, and decide how you want to respond.
You may need to:
develop a new skill
change a pattern
say something you have been afraid to say
see the situation differently all together
My work with you is practical and personalized.
You Don’t Have to Figure Out Leadership Alone
You can still be the person everyone else comes to and still need somewhere to put your own questions.
You can still be successful and have blind spots.
You can be a strong leader and still want someone to challenge you.
You can care deeply about your people and still need better boundaries.
You can know what you should do and still need help figuring out how to do it.
That’s what coaching is for.
Let's talk about what’s happening and where you want to go from here.
What we can work on together:
Communication
Say what you mean without over-explaining, avoiding, controlling, or creating unnecessary tension.
Difficult Conversations
The conversation you have been avoiding is often the one that needs to happen…yesterday. We can prepare for it, work through what is making it difficult, and develop a way to approach it that is direct, grounded, and respectful.
Boundaries & Accountability
You can be compassionate without being permissive. You can hold people accountable without becoming punitive. You can say no without creating unnecessary conflict. And you can care about people without taking responsibility for their reactions.
Conflict & Relationship Dynamics
Understand what is actually happening when a relationship at work becomes difficult. We can look at patterns, communication styles, expectations, power dynamics, boundaries, and the behaviors that keep a conflict going.
Delegation & Over-Functioning
Sometimes leadership becomes exhausting because you are doing too much. You solve problems that aren’t yours to solve. You take responsibility for other people’s work. You anticipate everyone’s needs. Maybe you step in before someone else has the opportunity to figure it out. We can work on creating a different relationship with responsibility - one that allows other people to grow while allowing you to lead.
Emotional Intelligence & Self-Awareness
What happens to you when you’re under pressure? Do you become controlling? Withdraw? Over-explain? People please? Avoid confrontation? Become defensive? Perhaps you take things personally? Your patterns are information, and they may be holding your organization back from its full potential. Once you understand them, we can workshop the steps to change that will allow you to push the barriers to the side so you can create change.
Leadership is Relational. I help effective leaders become more effective at the human side of leadership.
You can be excellent at what you do and still struggle with the “people” part of leadership.
Giving difficult feedback : Setting Boundaries
Managing conflict : Delegating without micromanaging
Holding people accountable : Navigating strong personalities
Having conversations you have been avoiding : Leading people without taking responsibility for everyone’s emotions
Knowing when to listen, when to challenge, and when to step back.
The Human Side of Leadership
Leadership isn’t just a strategy, a performance, productivity, or decision-making. Leadership happens through relationships - with your team, with your clients, with your business partner, with authority.
Perhaps, most importantly, the relationship you have with yourself. What do you believe about your own capabilities? Who is the person behind the screen, or the desk, or in the office out of sight?
I help leaders communicate under pressure, respond to conflict effectively, set and hold boundaries that bring people together, and face communication head on, in a way that drives your organization forward.
There is a relational focus at hand, and I am here to coach you through it.
Who I work with
I work with leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, managers, and professionals who want to become more effective in the way they lead and relate to others.
You could be:
stepping into a leadership role for the first time
managing a growing team
building or running your own business
struggling with a particular employee or professional relationship
preparing for a difficult conversation
feeling stretched by the emotional demands of leadership
trying to establish better boundaries
navigating company or employee conflict
wanting a confidential place to think through a complicated situation
wanting to become more intentional in the way you lead
Sometimes, you just want someone outside of your organization to see things that you may not be seeing.
